Innovation thru Miniaturization - The Enabling Benefits of Micro Molding
Speaker: Aaron Johnson, VP of Marketing & Customer Strategy, Accumold
Today’s miniaturization challenges often face roadblocks and supply chain resistance. Not every supplier or manufacturing organization is equipped to push the limits. This sometimes requires finding supply-chain partners that come along side as an extension of your engineering team. One such technology, micro molding, has enabled organizations to expand the boundaries of their own designs and provide more value in their marketplace. This presentation will explore the capabilities, scalability, and sustainability of micro injection molding and industry experts, Accumold. We will define; what is micro molding, look at production from prototype to full-scale fabrication, explain project development through DfMM (Design for Micro Molding) and quality assurance. The presentation will also examine many examples of micro molding, insert and overmolding, thin-wall molding, LSR, and micro 3D printing.
